delegates will learn how to:
Understand your role and specific responsibilities as a first aider
Assess a range of incidents and respond appropriately
Provide first aid to a casualty who is unconscious
Provide first aid using CPR, defibrillation & recovery position
Provide first aid to a casualty who is experiencing shock
provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
Provide first aid to a casualty with splinters and burns
Be able to conduct a secondary survey (inc. head to toe survey)
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
Provide first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
Provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
Provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
Provide first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis (EpiPen, Jext and Emerade)
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to muscles & joints
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness including heart attack, stroke and asthma
Provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness including epileptic seizure, and diabetic emergency
Successful completion results in a nationally recognised qualification valid for 3 years
- First Aid At Work Training Courses
First Aid Training Course - Level 3
This comprehensive 3-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have been introduced since their last training course.
The First Aid At Work qualification is valid for a 3 year period. To renew your qualification, you will need to take the First Aid at Work Requalification course. However, due to First Aid evolving, it is recommended that during the 3-year period, learners attend annual refresher courses to update their learning and keept your organisation at the forefront of Health and Safety legislation requirements.
